Gratitude Recovery Malibu is the result of my passion, education, work, and life experience that puts me in the fortunate position of being able to help others. This is particularly true for those that are looking to make the changes necessary to experience the best that life, especially life in recovery, offers. I just celebrated 21 years clean and sober so I know intimately the opportunities and challenges that present themselves in
recovery as well as what it takes to continue to grow as a person. My journey led me back to school to become a drug and alcohol counselor (Chemical Dependency Professional in Washington State); I then earned a Master’s Degree in Psychology with a Specialization in Addiction. I was trained in Dialectical
Behavior Therapy (DBT) by Dr. Marsha Linehan and her team (10-day
Intensive); and was also trained by Alan Marlatt’s team in Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention (MBRP). Over the past 15 years, I have been privileged to work with individuals, using DBT skills and Mindfulness practices to make big changes in their lives. I have also been blessed to lead as a Program Director the implementation of Stages of Change, Motivational Interviewing,DBT & Mindfulness in a diverse range of acclaimed programs including The Canyon at Peace Park and Promises Treatment Centers.
